About Us

Launched in October 2008, Noomii is an interactive web-based life management system that enables any two people to life coach each other. Noomii develops technologies that uniquely facilitate the coaching experience through technology and human accountability. Noomii is owned by PairCoach Enterprises Inc, a privately-held company with headquarters in Vancouver, Canada.

The Goal is Global Well-Being, the Tool is Coaching

The ultimate goal of Noomii is to increase global well-being. We want you to thrive and live a meaningful, engaging, and joyful life. And we think life coaching is the best tool to make that happen.

Research in positive psychology (i.e. the science of happiness) suggests that there are many ways to increase your well-being - such as meditating, helping others, eating well, regular exercise, and showing gratitude - and life coaching is a proven method for encouraging the right actions in all aspects of your life. In short, life coaching is a tool for well-being. And our mission is to make that tool available to the masses.

Meet the Noomii Team

Kurt

Kurt Shuster // CEO

In your own words, what do you do for Noomii?

Like most startup founders, I wear a lot of different hats. But my primary jobs are to keep our customers and our investors happy - though not necessarily in that order...

What is your greatest strength?

My top VIA strengths are Creativity, Open-Mindedness, Hope & Optimism, Love of Learning, and Curiosity

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am most proud of Noomii! Anyone who's ever started a company knows how much work and effort goes into getting it off the ground, but it's worth it in the end.

Who do you admire and why?

I admire lots of people, but Paul Graham is definitely near the top of the list. Of all the web startup gurus out there, his insights and advice "speaks" to me the most. Don't even think about starting a website without reading his blogs!

What are you most grateful for?

I'm grateful to have such an intelligent, fun, and inspiring team here at Noomii.

What do you contribute to the dynamics of the Noomii team?

I try to keep everyone reminded of why we're here, which is, as Martin Seligman put it, "To increase the total tonnage of happiness in the world".

Stephan

Stephan Wiedner // COO & Head Coach

In your own words, what do you do for Noomii?

I create the road-map and grease the chain and cogs to keep the Noomii machine moving toward a bright road ahead. I also try to get the best parts (i.e. people) to make everything move smoothly and quickly.

What is your greatest strength?

Connecting and seeing the relationship between ideas; seeing how a small thing over here can affect a big thing over there.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Being a 5-time Kneeknacker: an epic 30-mile mountain trail-running race.

Who do you admire and why?

His Holiness the Dalai Lama for personifying the ideals of Buddhism and spiritual practice under the most oppressive and threatening political circumstances. It's easy to say 'ohm' while cross-legged under a fig tree. Try doing it when someone's chopping down the tree or claiming it as their own.

What are you most grateful for?

My wife. I often have to pinch myself in disbelief that a woman as awesome as her wants to be with a chump like me.

What do you contribute to the dynamics of the Noomii team?

Some lightness, cinnamon buns, soccer dribbling skills, and a little inspiration to kick-ass and drink beer (in that order).

Radu

Radu Vlad // Software Developer

In your own words, what do you do for Noomii?

I make web pages and have a good appreciation for intuitive UI.

What is your greatest strength?

Being able to analyze situations from various perspectives.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Getting to where I am now.

Who do you admire and why?

Randy Pausch, for his positive outlook on life, for actively pursuing his dreams, and for not giving up while overcoming so many obstacles.

What are you most grateful for?

Having the freedom to pursue pretty much anything.

What do you contribute to the dynamics of the Noomii team?

Oreos and milk.

Jesse

Jesse Heaslip // Search Specialist

In your own words, what do you do for Noomii?

I make sure you find the site and have an awesome experience once you get here.

What is your greatest strength?

Creativity and deciphering developer talk.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am most proud of forcing myself out of a bubble and moving overseas, twice!

Who do you admire and why?

Its got to be Lance Armstrong. If you ever think of quitting just ask yourself, "What Would Lance Do?" (WWLD for the time-savers out there.)

What are you most grateful for?

I am grateful to be a part of a super work environment plus my family, friends and health.

What do you contribute to the dynamics of the Noomii team?

I chip in with the Search Engine Optimization, User Experience, Marketing and Coffee Runs.

Roman

Roman Gonzalez // Software Developer

In your own words, what do you do for Noomii?

I evangelize web developers on the use of BDD, implement elegant solutions to technical problems, and push for new technologies that seem good for the company.

What is your greatest strength?

My eagerness to learn new things, tackle new problems, and the will to change things to make them what I would consider better.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Representing my university (Universidad Central de Venezuela) with my team Guayoyo in the ACM ICPC World Finals twice in 2006 and 2007.

Who do you admire and why?

Edsger W. Dijkstra, for being such an inspiration in the Computer Science field.
My parents, for giving me the courage and the will to believe in myself.

What are you most grateful for?

I'm so grateful to have such a kick-ass family. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have accomplished half the things I've done without their support and encouragement.

What do you contribute to the dynamics of the Noomii team?

I always try to give the best feedback I can on the problems people may have at the office, and at the same time I contribute (without any effort) to the happy mood of the office.
