What is Noomii?

Noomii is the web's number one directory of professional coaches. Each month, thousands of prospective clients browse our network of independent coaches from across the United States, Canada, and 30 more countries. Our network includes coaches from a large variety of specializations, including life coaches, business coaches, executive coaches, career coaches, and more.

How does Noomii help me get new clients?

Noomii has two ways of helping you get more clients. First, clients can browse our directory of professional coaches to search for coaches by location, specialization, and more. Alternatively, our coach matching service allows clients to describe their coaching goals, background, and related information, and Noomii sends them a list of coaches who's experience and training matches their request. How much does Noomii cost?

Noomii is absolutely free for clients. For coaches, our risk-free monthly plans start at $0 per month (yes, free!), and paid plans range from $19 to $59 per month. Find out more about Noomii's plans and pricing for coaches.

What is the difference between the free and paid plans?

The main difference between the free and paid plans is the amount of exposure to clients that you'll receive. With one of our paid plans, your Noomii profile gets seen by more of the thousands of client visitors we receive each month. We do this in a number of ways. First, our directory of coaches orders coaches plan type (premium plus at the top, followed by Premium, Basic, and Free). Second, only paid coaches may participate in our coach matching service, in which clients specify their specific goals and coaches recommend themselves as potential candidates. Third, paying coaches get additional profile features such as their direct phone number, link to a personal website, etc. The bottom line is that with more exposure, you'll be contacted by more clients. Our internal metrics show that coaches on one of Noomii's paid plans receive an average of four times as many client leads as coaches on our free plan. The good news is that there's never any obligation or long-term commitment; you are free to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your membership at any time.

How does the "bidding" system work?

Our coach referral service allows clients to describe their coaching goals, personal background, and other information, and presents this to coaches like you in a daily email. If you see a client who looks like a good fit for your training, background, and experience, you may recommend yourself to coach the client. This recommendation includes a brief message that you can write directly to the client, describing why you think you are a good match. To recommend yourself, you need to bid 1 "credit", but you may bid as many credits as you like. Once the client lead closes after 48 hours, the client is sent with an email containing the top five bidding coaches. The client is then encouraged to contact as many of their 5 matches as possible to conduct an initial consultation. For those coaches not in the top 5, all credits are returned within 10 minutes of the lead closing. Only coaches on one of our our paid plans may use this service.

Can I buy more credits if I run out?

Yes, you can get more credits by upgrading to a higher priced plan. For example, if you are on the $19 plan which gives you 10 credits per month, you may upgrade to the $29 plan which gives you 20 credits per month and receive your additional 20 points instantly. Our top plan gives you 50 points per month, at a price of $59 per month. Out of fairness to other coaches, and in order to provide the client with the best possible matches, we do not allow coaches to purchase more credits beyond this.

Why do you limit the matches to 5 coaches per client?

Our extensive user testing has shown that clients overwhelmingly want to see a short list of recommended coaches rather than a long list. After all, they are using the referral service to help them reduce a large number of prospective coaches to a small number of coaches whose experience, training, and background match their goals. We have therefore found that 5 coaches is the best number of coaches to recommend.

Why do you use a credits system to do the matching?

The credits system is the best way we have found for ensuring that coaches only recommend themselves to clients when they genuinely believe they are a good match for the client's goals. Before the credits system was implemented, we found that many coaches were often recommending themselves to coach every client who posted a referral request, without regard for "fit". The credit system is intended to limit coaches to recommending themselves only to the very best fitting clients.

How many clients can I expect to get if I sign up for Noomii?

The number of clients you may expect depends on a number of factors such as your training, specialization, billing rates, experience, location, and many more. On average, a coach on one of Noomii's paying plans will get about 6 clients per year through Noomii, compared to about 1 or 2 per year on the free plan. Some coaches do much better, others not as well. This is one of the reasons Noomii offers a free plan and no long-term contracts: if it's not working for you, you are free to downgrade to the free plan at any time.

I'm not sure Noomii gets enough client leads to make it worth singing up.

Keep in mind that Noomii's referral system is only ONE of the ways we help you get new clients. Our data shows that only about half of Noomii's coach-client hires happen as a result of our referral service. The other half are the result of clients who brows Noomii's directory of coaches and directly contact coaches. Putting these together, paying clients can expect to get a client about once every two months, while coaches on the free plan may get a client once or twice per year.

What is the Return On Investment (ROI) for using Noomii?

As described above, the number of clients you get will vary greatly from coach to coach. Furthermore, the return on your investment with Noomii will depend on how much you charge your clients and the average length of your coaching engagements. Nonetheless, the calculation is relatively simple. To give an example, suppose that you are on the $59 per month plan and you get about one client every 2 months through Noomii (which is about average). If you coach that client for 6 months at a rate of $350 per month (a typical coaching rate), you will end up billing that client a total of $2,100. So for a price of $118 (2 months at $59 per month) you were able to receive $2,100 in coaching fees. While this example is typical for an "average" Noomii coach, remember that some coaches do much better and others not as well. We recommend you do your own ROI calculation based on your particular coaching rates and the length of time you normally coach a new client. Simply multiply the two together to get a "lifetime value" for your average client ($2,100 in our example), and then compare that to the price you paid ($118 in our example). There's your ROI!
