1. How much does Noomii cost?

Noomii has both free and paid plans. With the free plan, you can create your profile and take advantage of the targeted client traffic that Noomii delivers to our directory of coaches. The cost to you is nothing and no credit card is required.

However, if a prospective client chooses to contact you or if you are selected for a coach match, you must upgrade to a paid plan to respond to view the client's contact details. Our goal is to provide you enough information about the client and their coaching needs to allow you to make a decision about whether or not you should upgrade.

If you do upgrade, you will be provided with the client's contact information and can pursue that client as you would any other client. If you choose not to upgrade to respond, the lead will go to another suitable coach. Noomii's service is to provide highly qualified coaching client leads.

Paid plan prices are contract-free and range from $19 to $59 dollars per month. Paid packages give your profile priority listing and better exposure on Noomii's directory compared to free plans. For full details of the differences between the plans please see Noomii's plans and pricing.

2. What is Coach Match?

We have found in our interactions with prospective coaching clients that they do not know how to choose a coach from the hundreds listed on Noomii. Coach Match helps clients find the right Noomii coach.

Coach Match is Noomii's proprietary service that matches clients with their ideal coach. Coach Match uses a number of factors including the client's location, age, coaching goals, budget and profession to help match that client with the most suitable Noomii coach.

After evaluating the client's needs, Coach Match selects 1 to 3 Noomii coaches that would create the most positive coaching experience for the client.

The Coach Match process is partly automated and partly done with our personal assessment. Coach Match is moving towards a complete automation with an eHarmony style matching process between coaches and clients.

For your profile to be Coach Match eligible it must be filled out in full including your location, a photo, your credentials, your coaching specialities, an introduction and a coaching bio. Again, this comes back to creating a positive experience for the client. Clients need the right information to be able to choose between comparable profiles and coaches.

3. How many clients will I get with Noomii?

Noomii receives thousands of visits each month from prospective clients. Some coaches receive monthly or weekly leads through Noomii. Other coaches receive no leads. This is often a product of how attractive the coaches profile is.

To give yourself the best chance of securing coaching leads you can

  • Fully fill out your profile
  • Check your profile for grammatical mistakes
  • Show your profile to 3 people you trust, ask them how you can improve it
  • Optionally, upgrade to a paid plan as that will get you more exposure on Noomii's directory
  • Request a review from a Noomii Coach Match Expert
4. I don't want a monthly contract, what can I do?

If you want to respond to a client lead you must upgrade to a paid package. There are no monthly contracts with Noomii's paid packages and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel your account at anytime.

For example, you could do the following:

  1. Receive a client lead through Noomii.
  2. Review that client lead and decide that you wish to respond
  3. Upgrade to Noomii's Basic Plan ($19/month)
  4. Receive the client's contact details and connect with the client
  5. Downgrade to Noomii's Free Plan
  6. Pay only $19 for that client lead.

Please keep in mind, that staying on a paid plan will see you listed above the free plan coaches on Noomii's directory. Similar to Google's search results, we have found that the profiles at the top of the directory receive the most client leads. As long as you are on a pay plan you can receive unlimited client leads with no additional cost.

5. What can I do to get more clients through Noomii?

We have found that there is a strong correlation between having an attractive and full profile and securing client leads.

For example:

  • 100% of client requests and Coach Matches have gone to coaches with a photo
  • Profiles with location information filled in are 32% more likely to get requested
  • Profiles with a polished "Bio" are 68% more likely to be requested
  • Coaches who identify their 'Ideal Client' are over 50% more likely to be requested
  • Coaches with at least one article published on Noomii are nearly 60% more likely to be requested

Robust and Descriptive Profile = More Clients!

In addition, linking to your Noomii profile from your blog, and any social media spaces you maintain like your Twitter account or Facebook page will also help boost your chances of success on Noomii.

Can my clients schedule a session with me?

No. As the coach, you have the only authority to create a session with your client and by doing so, it automatically appears on your client's calendar.

Can my client see or edit my session notes?

Both you and your clients can write and view notes for any of your coaching sessions. Both of you will be able to log in at any time, through any web browser, and create, view, or edit notes. Noomii also allows you to send your clients an email after every session that includes that session’s notes as well as your clients current goals, commitments, and next session.

Can I write private notes about my clients?

Yes. Noomii allows you to write private notes about any of your clients, as well as private contact information such as work, home, and mobile phone numbers.

How can I increase my number of client leads?

There are lots of ways to make your profile more attractive to prospective clients. First and foremost, make sure to add a photo to your profile. Coaches with profile photos get about ten times as many client requests as coaches without photos. Second, make sure to upload at least 2 or 3 (and preferably more) articles to your profile. Articles are a great way to showcase your skills and expertise, and they help prospective clients determine if there is a mutual “fit” with your personality and coaching style. Finally, consider upgrading to one of our premium packages. These monthly packages start at just $19 a month, and include many features to make your profile stand out among the others. See our plans and pricing.

What makes a good article?

An article does not have to be long, but it should be compelling. The more time people spend reading and reviewing your article plus the more inbound links you receive from quality sites (because your article is so well written, it has become an authority on the subject at hand) and the higher your search results. At a minimum your article should be 250 words in length but remember people spend less time reading online than they do paper, so get to the point. People rarely read web pages word by word; instead, they scan the page, picking out individual words and sentences. Use small paragraphs of no more than 5-6 lines to keep your message clear and concise.

It is essential that the content of your article match your article title and description. If your article is titled "Business Entrepreneurs in Career Transition" writing 600 words about "Shanghai Circus High-Wire Acts" will confuse both people and search engines. Effective internet writing often uses the the inverted pyramid style, starting with the conclusion. "Client X's Business Grew 200% after just 4 sessions of my Career Transition Entrepreneurship Program" . Then expand on the details of how you achieved this.

Above all, the best long-term solution is to write a great article for your human readers. Aim to please your readers with amazing content and Google will find you!

What makes a good title for my article?

The title of your article will often be the only thing people read. It will appear as the link in search results on Google as well as on pages within Noomii. A good title needs to do two things. First, it needs to "get the click" by grabbing people's attention. Second, it needs to tell the search engines what the article is about by using keywords.

A keyword is a phase that people type into Google or other search engines. As a result, a keyword phrase often makes an effective title for an article that is going to get found on Google. Keyword phrases are usually at a minimum 2-3 words and can be as many as 6-8 words (called a long-tail keyword). The more specific (or long-tailed) your keyword phrase the less competition and the higher likelihood that it will appear at the top of search results. For best results, use less than 80 characters, preferably 65.

For example, "Life Coaching" is an extremely competitive keyword phrase. Seeking the long-tail, "Life Coaching for Entrepreneurs in Career Transition" is more specific and will have a better chance of appearing at the top of Google results.

One last consideration for the title of your article; avoid using filler words like "and", "but", "the", "then", etc. They dilute the Keyword Phrase.

What makes a good description for my article?

Think of the description as a 5 second elevator pitch. Your description will appear directly below the title on Google's search results and in various places on Noomii. It has a maximum of 200 characters and preferably 150 characters or less. The main keyword phrase of your article should appear in the description, but should only appear once. Since the description is so important for "getting the click," spend some time to make it perfect. A few extra minutes can result in much more traffic and exposure to your potential clients.

Good strategies include:

  • Keep it real. Although it is essential to get your keyword phrase in the description, remember you are writing for people not search engines. A sentence like "Life Coaching: Life Coach Business Entrepreneurs, Life Coaches in Transition" has lots of great 'search' words in it, but reads poorly for human readers.
  • Ask a question. "Do you need life coaching to transition into your new career as a Business Entrepreneur?" This question entices the all important click and reinforces the keyword phrase.

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves presenting a consistent and compelling group of on-page factors to the major search engines to get your content positioned at the top of the search results. If you have ever searched for a product online like "Vancouver Hotels" odds are that someone has spent a good deal of time crafting a url, page title, heading tags and body copy to ensure their page appears #1.

At Noomii, we have a top-notch team of IT professionals who breathe the technical aspects of good SEO for our coaches but it is also up to you to give the articles that you add to your profile, the best chance of being exposed to your prospective clients. You can do this by reading the remaining FAQs below.

What is the key to winning the SEO game?

Of course we want to help you do all the right things to please the search engines but at the end of the day, the best long-term solution is to write great content. Google and other search engines are in the business of presenting people with the best content possible so make that your main focus. Aim to please humans first and search engines second.

If you write great content that people like, they will link to it from their own blogs, send it to friends, and link to it on Facebook, Twitter or other social networks. These are unbiased indications to the search engines that the content is good quality and will help push your articles to the top of the search results.

You can get the ball rolling by linking to your exclusive Noomii content from all of your Social Networking sites and your personal coaching page.

Will people find me on the 'find a coach' directory if I don't live in a big city?

The 'find a coach' directory is designed to display you in all the cities within a 60 mile radius of your home town. If you live within 60 miles of a large city, you will be displayed in that city as well as your own.

Can potential clients search for me by my niche or specialization?

Yes. You can select up to three coaching specializations for your profile, such as “business coach”, “team coach”, “relationship coach”, etc. Our professional coach directory lists these specializations to help prospective clients to find exactly the kind of coach they’re looking for.
