About Me

Hi my name is Avril Betts, I am originally from England and now a Canadian Citizen, I have over 30 years experience as an entrepreneur in all aspects of Travel and Tourism, including running 3 Travel Agencies.

This includes an online Travel Agency I developed 14 years ago with now 23 websites which I manage and market online.

I have owned, set up and run a Sub Shop, Deli, a Country Inn and Restaurant, and have also experience in Real Estate Investing.

I have taught Real Estate for new agents and brokers, Business Planning for entrepreneurs and setting up a B&B and Country Inn Courses. In addition I have developed and taught extensive Tourism Courses through CIC for unemployed individuals, including placing them in employment on completion.

I hold a CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) an internationally recognized accreditation and was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia. I hold Life Skills Certification.

In 1996 I hosted the President’s wives luncheon for the G7 conference. I have chaired Atlantic Canada Showcase an International Travel Trade Show, managed 450 volunteers for the Tall Ships Visit in July 2000, and in 1988 I founded the Country Inn Association in Nova Scotia still going strong today. I have been involved in numerous Travel and Tourism volunteer activities throughout Atlantic Canada and across Canada.

As an experienced speaker I have spoken and presented seminars to large and small audiences for many years on subjects ranging from Marketing and Sales and Life Skills to Tourism, Travel, Business Planning and Real Estate, and operating an online Travel business.

I have developed a unique Goal Setting program and will work with clients on setting their goals and follow through.

I have mentored and coached many people over the years and would love to work with you on developing your life, business and marketing skills and improving your business strengths.
