Delphine du Toit
Executive Coach, Performance Coach, Life Coach
There is something you want to change in your life - things are not what you want them to be. There's an inner un-ease, maybe about your job or career, possibly about your private life. Talk to me!
About Me
I have three professional coaching certificates from Adler International Learning, Toronto, Canada and am a member of the International Coaching Federation.
My professional background is in social work and human resources management.
I have a fundamental belief that we can create our own happiness through how we live and work.
My approach to coaching is quite straightforward. Our first conversation is an exploratory one, so that both the client and I can decide whether we can work together (a free session).
All our conversations remain utterly confidential between us.
If we agree to proceed I then ask the client to reflect on a couple of questions in preparation for our coaching relationship, which includes what the client expects to achieve and any preferences, issues or triggers I should be aware of.
My role is to listen to you like you've never been listened to before: to help you clarify confusing or even conflicting ideas and options so that you can take the action that is needed to change the things you want to change.
I do not give advice and I do not counsel. I keep track of progress and maintain focus on your coaching goals so that you are free to understand & resolve the issues that stand in the way.
In my experience we often know what we should or could do and we tend to find ways of avoiding it. It is a sort of inertia that keeps us trapped in unacceptable situations. As your coach I help you break through that inertia - you will find energy and creativity to put a new spark in your life.
The fear that is holding you back from being who you want to be is replaced by courage and will.
You retain control over all decisions - my job is to ask the right questions so that you can decide what's next. This includes how long we work together. Sometimes 4 sessions are adequate; sometimes a year is more appropriate.
Most of my coaching is done telephonically but I do face-to-face coaching within a 100Kms radius of home too (HRM,Nova Scotia).

“Delphine has put me through an exciting and stimulating mentoring program and exposed me to new and innovating thinking. She is an engaging coach and created a forum for lively and enthusiastic discussion. I would highly recommend her expertise and service and have seen few who can consistently deliver the quality of work she does”.
Hassan Dewjiji - Director, Human Resources, METL
“Recently I attended the mentorship program for a year, and it has been very beneficial to me. I have built a strong and lean team, operational performance is progressively improving, and my relationship with my boss, colleagues and other staff is rich and stimulating.
On a couple of occasions after mentorship I have expounded on the merits of mentorship and sound management skills to my peers around Tanzania.
I recommend the mentorship programme offered by Delphine to anyone who has the calibre, will and desire to raise his or her career to new heights, and to organizations that desire to hone the management skills of its staff, which, as a whole, will stimulate accelerated economic growth and progress in Tanzania.”
Ben Lema, Plant Manager
“Delphine has challenged me on many levels to find my own answers to a variety of career and life decisions. This has given me the courage to take some bold but necesary steps over time, all of which I have looked back upon with relief, knowing that the correct course of action was taken. I have no doubt that I will continue to work with Delphine at various points in time as the input and creative approach that she offers will continue to be an invaluable contribution.”
Tansy Lee Derrick
“Delphine is a great mentor, she walks the talk and she managed to change one of my senior manager to become a great leader who is now meeting objectives set by himself and the organisation in totality.
Thanks to Delphine”
Jayne Nyimbo Taylor
“Delphine is truly a person with incredible integrity. She has the ability to step away from issues and see the bigger picture whilst never letting the detail unravel. In the many years that I have been associated with Delphine I have trusted her judgement, sought her counsel and valued her opinion. Always a balanced approach, but never unyielding on issues on which she held strong views. Delphine also possesses a wonderful sense of humour which compliments fantastic work ethic.”
