About Me

I have an M.D. and was a practicing internist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University for 35 years, specializing in psychiatric patients with medical problems for 25 of those years.

I have published extensively, taught in the medical school, refereed scholarly articles, am a Fellow of the New York Academy of Sciences, and have also taught intellectually gifted children Saturday mornings at Columbia University. All my degrees are from Columbia University: A.B., M.S., Ph.D., and M.D.

I have written over 95 blogs on medicine, some of which have been published in Inner Realm magazine, and I also do volunteer work at Gilda's Club.
