Rod holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Montana. He grew up outside a small town on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, and with a 70% unemployment rate, Rod relied upon his natural entrepreneurial instincts to fund his pursuits. After college he went to work for a national corporation where he quickly “climbed the corporate ladder.”After a few years in the corporate world and pursuing his dream of being an Olympic Athlete, Rod came back to this area to raise a family. Prior to starting his coaching and consulting business, Rod spent twelve years utilizing his entrepreneurial spirit improving fundraising results for a Fortune 400 non-profit organization. Rod directed a department which annually raised 8-10 million dollar. Through his formal education and coupled with “the entrepreneurial school of hard knocks,” Rod has developed a keen understanding and appreciation for the concepts of Marketing, Sales, Leadership, Teambuilding, Profitability, and Time Management.

In today’s highly competitive business environment, consultants in the field of marketing and business management are becoming more and more plentiful. Students with Masters in Business Administration or similar degrees are starting consulting practices offering business owners their wealth of theoretical knowledge. Unfortunately, many business consultants have never known what it is to be frustrated by a limited budget, depressed by an uncooperative and unmotivated team, or confounded by unforeseen circumstances. Such consultants are usually left floundering when they face business challenges their textbooks didn’t address. Robert Townsend defined consultants as “the people who borrow your watch to tell you what time it is and then walk off with it.” In contrast, a business coach will show you how, rather than just explain it and leave.

2. Develop and refine your ideas. You have great ideas! Some you can put into practice easily. Others are raw and in need of refinement. I have a working knowledge of hundreds of marketing, sales, customer service, and teambuilding strategies and know how to adapt them to your business.
3. Share a wealth of business growth ideas. When you’ve just “run out of ideas” on how to sell your products and services, I will educate you in business growth principles you’ll use for the rest of your business life. Weekly contact with me as your coach will keep you pressing to the next level.
4. Provide you with the contacts you need. When you need contacts or resources for your business, such as expansion capital, investment advice, professional services, or resources to grow your personal library, I have a network of business contacts and know where to find the information you need.
5. Give you perspective from the outside, looking in. Over time, you lose the ability to see your business with the same objective clarity that you once did. It can be like living next to a busy road and not hearing the traffic. I will be there to take a fresh look at you and your business on a weekly basis. I know what to look for and, most importantly, see what your customers see. You will always receive the feedback you need!
Business today is a race for growth and efficiency. It’s a race with few rules. Yet so many business owners try to forge their own path through the thick undergrowth of trial and error, traditional thinking, and lack of information, often exhausting themselves far short of their finish line.
