It's vital to always take time out for you!
We all have busy lives, consumed by commitments both personally and professionally. Dare we even consider taking time out for ourselves? We should.
Carving out moments for ourselves throughout the week or day for that matter is vital to our overall well-being. It allows us to experience a pocket of time that belongs to only us. This time enables us to re-center and rejuvenate our souls leaving us refreshed and reenergized. I know I just used a lot of “re” references just then, which by the way happens to translate from its Latin origins as, “back to the original place; again, anew, once more.” That being said, so many of us get swept up by all that is expected of us, that we fail to take care of us, we lose sight of who we are and what we’re truly capable of. We need to intentionally create a space that will transport us to a place of balance, allowing us to feel like us once again.
For example, getting up early in the morning while the world is still sleeping and quiet, grabbing a cup of coffee or tea and reading, journaling or just being still. Absorbing the silence around you, and just simply breathing in, then gently exhaling. Or perhaps, committing to a run, walk or hike 3-4 days a week, whether in your neighborhood or at a local park. And what about, rediscovering a hobby that you once enjoyed or finding a new passion that you can pursue. Whether it’s pottery, painting, or refinishing furniture, dive in and schedule time to enjoy this outlet.
Time is precious and so are you. Don’t let days, weeks or months go by without addressing what you need to feel centered, energized, passionate and alive. It can begin with simple baby steps, 15 minutes a day that belong to you. Then gradually over time, increase your activity and I guarantee you will soon experience life changing results.
So how will you begin tomorrow?
