{"id":1427,"date":"2011-01-26T09:30:02","date_gmt":"2011-01-26T17:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.noomii.com\/?p=1427"},"modified":"2011-01-31T13:29:58","modified_gmt":"2011-01-31T21:29:58","slug":"how-to-make-2011-your-best-year-ever-%e2%80%93-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noomii.com\/blog\/?p=1427","title":{"rendered":"How to Make 2011 Your Best Year Ever \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TAKING CARE OF YOUR SPIRIT IN 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in a series of articles on making 2011 your Best Year Ever!<\/p>\n<p>The first article focused on the Creative Process and generating new ideas.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Often, what we find next is that we get <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">so many<\/span> great ideas that we get distracted and overwhelmed or even frustrated because we still feel that we aren\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t going anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>The next step then, is to bring balance into our creative process and figure out which of our many ideas are the right one (s) for us. \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0The greatest tool for this is our Spirit\/Intuition.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 We all have it within us, but we don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t usually slow down enough to access it.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 By accessing our internal intuition or wisdom, we tap into Spirit and this enables us to receive guidance from a higher power.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ways to Tap into Your Spirit<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Stop \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153doing\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2<\/strong> and become aware of your body and take some deep breaths.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Not only does this get us out of our brain chatter, but it is also so good for our bodies.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 When we breathe in consciously and deeply, we take in more oxygen which gives a boost to our organs like the heart and lungs and also to our brains.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Meditation<\/strong> is a great way to quiet your mind.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 When you \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153quiet\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 yourself and give yourself some \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153space\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2, you allow your Spirit to renew itself and make itself known to you.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 You can think of this as conscious breathing.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Meditation is a very simple but effective technique to tune into Spirit but also to quiet your mind when you are feeling anxious.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 When we give our minds a break, this enables us to access resourceful ideas.<\/p>\n<p>One very simple technique is to slow your breathing down to 6-10 breaths per minute.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 To keep it interesting enough to retain our focus on the breathing, inhale for 3 counts and exhale for 5 counts.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s a good idea to put a timer on for 15 minutes so that you don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t need to concern yourself with keeping track of time.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 You\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2d be amazed at what ideas and inspirations come to you with a daily practice of only 15 minutes per day.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Being Present<\/strong> \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 In reality our brains can only focus on one thing at a time, so by consciously doing only one thing at a time and focusing on that one thing in the mental state of being present (in your body, focusing on the task) we are also able to access Spirit &amp; intuition.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Be here now.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 All we really ever have is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">present moment<\/span>, so make 2011 the year that you learn how to slow down and enjoy your life one moment at a time.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Nature<\/strong> &#8211;
