{"id":4806,"date":"2013-05-20T22:08:23","date_gmt":"2013-05-21T05:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.noomii.com\/blog\/?p=4806"},"modified":"2013-05-20T22:08:23","modified_gmt":"2013-05-21T05:08:23","slug":"update-the-new-matching-system-what-weve-learned-so-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noomii.com\/blog\/?p=4806","title":{"rendered":"Update: The New Matching System &#038; What We&#8217;ve Learned So Far"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re new to Noomii, you may not know that we\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve made some pretty significant changes to the coach\/client matching system. You can read all about the changes on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noomii.com\/blog\/4714-new-coach-matching-system\" title=\"The new coach matching system is live. No more bidding\">this previous post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With the new matching system (internally dubbed \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cCoach Match 2.0\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d), the signs are very positive thus far.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the things we are learning and how they pertain to you, our coaches.<\/p>\n<h2>1. We are seeing a 50% increase in conversion<\/h2>\n<p>With two and a half week\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s of data, client leads are reaching out to coaches roughly 50% more frequently than they did before. That\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s huge and we\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re really excited about it. But we don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t want to get too excited because results are still very early and we need more data for the results to be statistically significant.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Speed matters, big time<\/h2>\n<p>Many of the messages being sent through to coaches are occurring in the first 24 hours of the lead being published and before we\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve sent through their complete list of 5 coaches. Therefore, it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s no longer a question of whether or not you get in the top 5, it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s whether you can respond to clients quickly. <\/p>\n<p>If you see a lead that is a good fit in the morning, don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t wait until lunchtime or dinner to respond. Respond right away.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Coaches are getting hired quickly<\/h2>\n<p>Not only are coaches getting contacted, they seem to be getting hired more frequently. At least 6 coaches that I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve spoken with in the last week told me they got hired right away. Maybe coaches are volunteering the information more readily because they are excited by the new system. Maybe it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s because Coach Match 2.0 is simply better. The jury is still out.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Be on the look-out for \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cpre-approval\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d emails<\/h2>\n<p>In some cases, especially when the client specifically requests a coach in their area, we are \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cpre-approving\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d coaches that appear to be a perfect match for the client. When you are pre-approved, you will get an email prompting you to write a message to the client via the \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201crecommend myself\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d button that you would normally click on. Your message will be sent to the client immediately. This is one of the cases where speed is particularly important. Why would you wait? Help us give clients what they want as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h2>5. What you say at the top of your profile matters<\/h2>\n<p>When we recommend coaches, we look at your ideal client description at the top of your profile. Some of you target women, retirees, teens, business owners, or <fill in the blank>. If so, don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t recommend yourself to a client who obviously falls outside of your target audience unless there is good reason to do so. <\/p>\n<p>For example, if you call yourself the marketing diva goddess, forget about responding to male clients. If you are the teen and young adult coach, don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t respond to retirees. <\/p>\n<p>That said, we&#8217;ve seen a number of occasions where there is good reason to respond to someone outside of your &#8220;niche&#8221;. If that&#8217;s the case, acknowledge it in the message to the client with something like \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cI know I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m primarily a coach for executives and business owners but from time to time, I work with single moms because &#8230; [fill in the blanks].\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d I think you get the point.<\/p>\n<h2>What changes are we going to make next?<\/h2>\n<p>As we collect data and use the new matching system, we will continue to make changes. Many of you have expressed a concern that the old matching system was very time consuming.
