Poverty Alleviation
This was such a good experience. It got me directly in touch with stores so that I could learn just how much food was wasted, and how we can salvage it for the best. We did our rounds to various stores to sift through and collect everything, then took it back to the holding facility to prepare and preserve for our once-weekly distribution.
Those in need would have to register in advance, and we would portion out the food, depending on the family's preference, size, etc.

Growing up poor, my family used these food banks all the time. It was nice to finally give back to the community, and make sure that the overproduction of food in our country didn't go to waste!
