Janet Saunders

As a student in the field of psychology, I always knew that understanding theories such as attachment theory was important. But it wasn't until I learned how to apply this theory to real-life situations that I truly understood its power.

Through my studies, I learned how to identify attachment styles in myself and others, and how to use this knowledge to improve relationships and create more positive interactions. I also learned how attachment theory can be applied to clinical settings, helping clients to heal from trauma and develop more secure attachments.

One of the most profound experiences I had was when I was able to apply attachment theory to my own relationships. I was struggling to connect with a friend who seemed distant and uninterested in spending time with me. Through my knowledge of attachment theory, I was able to identify that my friend had an avoidant attachment style, which helped me to understand why they were behaving the way they were.

Armed with this knowledge, I was able to change my approach and become more sensitive to their needs, which ultimately helped us to reconnect and deepen our friendship. This experience showed me the true power of understanding theory and how it can be applied to practice.

Overall, my education in psychology has taught me that theory and practice are not separate entities, but are deeply interconnected. By understanding and applying theories such as attachment theory, we can make a real difference in people's lives and help them to achieve more positive outcomes."
