About Me

Strongly believe that through the application of sound basic business principles, the business of the business, any business can flourish no matter what the economy. I adopt a very pragmatic approach to business and establish firstly what is not working in the business, what the owner wants for the business and themselves both short and long term and then guide the owner, management and staff how to re-align the business and processes to achieve those objectives. At the end of the day provided the appropriate systems and procedures are in place and the owner and management track, measure and control the business via the critical business performance drivers they will be successful - if you don't measure the perfmance of the business you will never know what's working and what is not. The business must be seen as a whole and not individual components or functions and all of these functions must interact in a synergistic way towards the goals and visions of the company and owner. The essential element to achieve all of this is to help the owner see that success and improvement can only be achieved through them - they must be prepared to change their ideas about the business, their habits and be open to trying new ideas.

I work successfully with most industry types but having spent most of my working life in the construction and associated material supply industries.

Having been a successful founder of a manufacturing concern and a very succesful import and distribution business as well as two minor business failures - knowing when to pull the plug is as important as battling through the struggle -i know what it is to be a small business owner and experience the frustrations that come with the title of business owner - i have also been fortunate to experience the fruits of success that sometimes come along with that title.
