Career direction. I spent 14 years as a stay at home parent and I have zero direction as to what to do next

Tell us about yourself.

14 years as a stay at home parent. I started my career in retail management at 22 and moved through the retail system. I got burnt out and went back to school and got an MBA (after my first option - retail merchandising - closed their department at the university). I got out and felt confused about where I should put my self after I got my degree and the job market wasn’t good. I got an account manager position in the automotive industry. I hated it. I received no training and felt like a cog in a very large wheel. I got laid off 16 months after being hired. I was pregnant at the time and decided, begrudgingly, to stay home with my kids for 14 years. We lacked any assistance with raising our kids, childcare support, or emotional support. I was struggling mentally due to lack of support and some realizations from my past. We moved and had a death in the family and because of both of these events I was able to have the freedom to work. I’ve worked as a substitute teacher for 2 years, including office temp and business manager for the school play. I enjoy sewing and had a side business sewing for a bit in my past, I also sold clothing on Poshmark and EBay as a full fledged business during my kids early years. I’ve had some health struggles over the years which makes me want to put my health before long work hours. I’m looking to work 20-30 hours a week and I’d like to work giving back in some way…education, nonprofit, mental health
