About Me
Competitive youth sports can be exciting, but they can also leave families feeling confused, pressured, and unsure whether they are making the right decisions for their child.
I coach parents of young athletes who want thoughtful, practical guidance about their child’s long-term development. I also work with athletes on goal-setting, confidence, communication, healthy routines, and finding a sustainable path forward in their sport.
Our conversations may include coach-athlete fit, fear and confidence cycles, training load, burnout, school and sport balance, returning after an injury, changing teams or gyms, communicating with coaches, navigating ADHD or different learning needs, and deciding when an athlete should advance, repeat, rest, or explore another direction.
My perspective comes from several sides of youth sports. I am a former international and NCAA Division I athlete, former college track coach, certified Texas PE and Health teacher, strength and conditioning coach, USATF Level 2 coach, AAU track and field coach, soccer coach, life coach, educator, and mother of competitive young athletes. I have helped develop athletes who advanced to the Olympic level, and I understand both high-performance goals and the importance of protecting a child’s confidence, health, education, and love of sport.
My coaching is practical and individualized. We look at the whole athlete, identify the real concern, separate short-term frustration from larger warning signs, and create realistic next steps. I do not believe every difficult moment means a child should quit or change programs—but I also do not believe families should ignore unhealthy patterns simply because sacrifice is considered normal in competitive sports.
Coaching is educational and goal-focused and is not a substitute for medical care, mental-health treatment, or sports psychology. When appropriate, I encourage families to involve qualified healthcare or mental-health professionals.
