About Me

The first thing to know about me is that I will honor you for who you are. I am here to encourage you, ask questions, provide information and help to build options; I am not here to judge you.
I bring a unique perspective to the table, mostly because of personal experience. Life has challenged me plenty: Loss of a fiance', injury that resulted in blindness, changes in work and living situations, success as a single woman...
I know firsthand that people can have full, successful lives, in spite of what life throws at them.
I hold a BA in Education, An MA in rehabilitation teaching and a Masters in Socialwork. In addition, I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, pain management, Solution Oriented Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, family therapies of various sorts, pastoral counseling and Christian healing.
I am familiar with many Christian traditions: Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Anglicanism, Lutheranism, Evangelicalism, Spirit filled living and more nontraditional practices.
I was a psychotherapist for 27 years. Before that, I taught techniques of daily living and provided low vision services to people who were new to loss of eyesight.
I have also founded two nonprofit corporations. One works in poverty relief; the other helps people to improve the quality of their lives.
The focus of my coaching practice is "points of transition". In times such as these, we might experience loss and destabilization. We enter "uncharted territory"; things can be chaotic. In the midst of all this, we need to make decisions. That is where I come in.
