Harry Rix Providence, Rhode Island
Relationship Coach, Life Coach, Spirituality Coach
Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Divinity
I work with adults who seek assistance with relationships, life coaching and spiritual issues.
I am a clinically-trained counselor, chaplain and pastor and have written more than 300 articles on a variety of topics, including relationships, parenting, mental health and spirituality. My life experiences, as well as the wisdom received from mentors and counselors, enable me to assist with a variety of issues and circumstances.
Each of us has a ‘wise mind.’ We can access this by being mindful—fully present in each moment—and increasing our ability to deal with difficulties through discussion and reflection. We have many skills and tools available so we can focus on the meaningful changes that will improve our effectiveness and happiness.
My approach is eclectic: Despite setbacks, my life has often been a journey of ‘spiraling upward’ as I have learned, for example, from the psychological approaches of CBT, DBT and ACT; the five ‘love languages’ of Dr. Gary Chapman; the spiritual teachings of Jesus; and the Buddhist wisdom of mindfulness. I am grateful for the many people who have enriched my life.
Similarly, I would be glad to assist you in making the step-by-step decisions and actions that can be transformative for you. I do my best to go 'the extra mile' with clients: I often provide links by email to articles, books or other resources that can help you reflect on how to make further progress.

It was a good experience. Gave me clarity on my situation and also that even though I have a bad boss it is also a common thing. Gave me great resources that are beneficial to learn more about conflict, making boundaries, ways to resolve them, and looking forward to using them.James
Harry Rix is an amazing counselor and I whole-heartedly endorse his counseling and coaching services. He helped me through a dark time when I was dealing with a toxic workplace. He gave me logical and sensible advice when I was too embroiled in the situation to be able to see my way out of it. Harry guided me through that difficult time with his sage advice, open ear, and gentle suggestions. He has a genuine kindness that permeates his counseling sessions, and his coaching style is patient and non-judgmental. Perhaps due to his previous career as a minister, he is a great listener and understands the human condition, as well as spiritual matters. He understands complex concepts, but he also explains them in simple terms that anyone can understand. Lastly, his gentle nudging as a coach and great sense of humor makes our sessions fun and something I look forward to. I have made great progress with Harry by my side or perhaps I should say that he has my back! I am happy to talk to anyone who is considering hiring Harry as a life coach or counselor. I cannot say enough good things about him and his services.Cynthia Brown
