About Me

A Certified Professional Recovery Coach, I strategically and holistically support individuals and the families of individuals recovering from substance abuse, addictive behaviours and major life changes such as divorce. I utilize a therapeutic approach that helps to address the nervous system and emotional regulation. I use an IFS informed lens which refers to our" inner family system" which is the various parts of us that have developed over time protect our vulnerabilities.

Working with people and hearing their stories has always been a fascination of mine. Small talk isn't for me. I prefer to dig deeper and learn more about the people around me. Everyone has an important story to share. In my work, I help clients look at their inner dialogue and what stories their mind tells them that may be keeping them from being present and the best version of themself.

I spent the earlier part of my career as a guidance counsellor and teacher and later returned to the business world as an executive recruiter of financial professionals as well as an advocate for women entrepreneurs.

A few years ago, personal circumstances led me to to do a deep dive into the field of addictions and mental health. I saw so many patterns emerging and wanted to learn more and to apply that knowledge to the people around me who I could see were struggling. Arguably, we're all struggling at some point in time, most don't want to admit it or deal with it. So it grows.

Building an understanding of the mechanisms behind addictive processes and recognizing procedural memory patterns that most of us hold, I believe will generate better outcomes for those struggling with tough life circumstances and those who love them.

Keeping an open mind that one strategy does not fit all, is part of this understanding. I continue to do my own inner work and with it, my coaching in this area continues to evolve. I believe that is an important part of everyone's life process.
