Let’s face it, there is no avoiding life transitions. I find there are massive amounts of opportunity for growth during transitions…sometimes we just cannot see them.
Let’s define transition:
• Obtaining a dream promotion
• Getting a divorce
• Longing to change careers
• Death of a loved one
• Managing 200 people
• Dealing with consequences from bad decisions
Cracks often form as we think to ourselves questions like:
- How did I get to this place.
- I thought this would be easier.
- I wish I would have done __ instead of __.
- Why am I not as strong as I thought I was.
It is inevitable for us to challenge our ability to be resilient.
HOW: My approach is to begin to fill in the cracks by: 1) breaking down the issue(s); 2) assessing needs and areas for personal development; 3) evaluating and creating an action plan; and 4) fill the gaps with clarity and passion for the future.
I do this by providing transparent and direct feedback in an authentic, safe-space for individuals to explore and develop a self-awareness that will encourage growth in their defined need areas. An authentic approach is critical to creating a reciprocal trust where real growth and change can occur.
EXPERIENCE: For the last 22 years I have experienced an abundance of career and life transitions that many people struggle through and are often unable to overcome. As a young adult, personal and familial trauma were the norm rather than the exception. I have worked in advertising agencies, ski resorts, hospitals, corporations, non-profits and now, a private coaching practice. I have had a complete breakdown; career makeover at age 32; personal art gallery installations in NYC; presented at national conferences; collaborated with world-renowned therapists; taught self-care to corporate leadership teams and more.
My authentic, transparent approach to helping individuals survive and thrive through career and life transitions are what filled my cracks. What will fill in yours?

My first experience with Janice was extremely positive. She was very professional and there was clear communication between us. She encouraged me without being pushy and made me feel at ease.Tasneem
After seeing several therapists in several different cities to help with a trauma-based mood disorder and transition to medication, it didn't feel like I was making any progress. Then I spoke with Janice. She treated me like an individual, not a chapter in an academic text. Her methods are unique and conversational, the fact that she's so personable makes her completely different from other therapists and types of therapy I was familiar with. It's good to feel human (mostly) happy again ! I truly feel like I owe the advances I've made to Janice.T. Horne
