Jeff Whitehorn Brentwood, Tennessee
After serving as a hospital Chief Executive Officer for 25 years, I retired early in my career in 2017. I am very passionate about helping others improve their leadership skills as well as assisting people in navigating their careers. I learned so much in my professional career about leading teams that consistently overachieved. I experienced tremendous satisfaction mentoring and coaching members of our team to achieve more and advance in their careers. For these reasons, I've developed a coaching practice to pass along what I learned in order to help others.
I coach executives, directors, managers, and early/mid-careerists.
I graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN in 1980 majoring in accounting. I worked as a CPA for two years then went back to school at the University of Alabama and earned my MBA in 1988. I then embarked on a 29-year career in healthcare administration, 25 of those years serving as a hospital CEO. I bring actual work experience to a coaching relationship, not just what you read in the latest book-of-the-month about leadership and career direction.
It was thrilling to me to see people with whom I mentored and coached grow in their careers. Many were promoted to higher positions while others changed direction and found their niche in jobs that provided them much fulfillment and success.
I took classes in coaching and earned my Certified Master Coach designation through the Center of Coaching Certification.
If you want to work with a coach that's learned so much in the "real world", then please consider me as your coach. I will help you achieve goals that you never thought you could achieve.

When Jeff Whitehorn decided to make his transition from his role as the CEO at TriStar Summit Medical Center to a new career as an Executive Coach in 2018, I had the privilege of being his first client. Jeff's professional experiences with HCA give him invaluable insights into the server changing landscape of healthcare. His advice and direct guidance about a wide range of topics, delivered with enthusiasm, have been a great source of clarity and motivation for me. Anyone interested in personal growth and development, regardless of business sector, will benefit from time spent with Jeff. To this day, Jeff remains a trusted counselor, confidant, and most importantly, friend!Physician Executive, Nashville, TN
My company generously offered me the opportunity to work with Jeff Whitehorn in 2018 as I expanded my role from CFO to CEO. Jeff's clear, focused coaching assisted me in being very successful in my transitional role. He did a great job challenging me to be my best and think beyond my normal parameters. We delved into psychology of leadership and broke down ways to improve my communication style. I'm grateful for my time with Jeff and would highly recommend him to anyone who aspires to grow as a leader or an executive leader.Hospital CEO, Morristown, TN
As I explored executive coaching, I was looking for a leader with a track record of mentorship in the healthcare field. Jeff has seen significant success in identifying and developing leaders throughout his career with HCA. Jeff and I contracted for seven sessions in 2018 as I transitioned through the executive interview and on boarding process. His guidance supported my successful Chief Operating Officer interview and guided the development of a 90-Day on boarding program. Jeff's insights to executive relationships, teamwork, and how to quickly ingrain yourself into a community are bearing fruit in my new role. Additionally, Jeff is able to connect on a personal level and help you refine your coaching to achieve the most bang out of your time together. I'll be maintaining my relationship with Jeff to support me through difficult situations ahead and to maintain a development pathway. I highly recommend Jeff's services.Hospital Chief Operating Officer, Covington, LA
