About Me
Completing my PhD in Clinical Psychology, I have worked in both hospital and community-based mental health settings in Australia and Singapore since 2006. Academically having been Head of Counselling at a University, I firmly believe in the power of conversations.
A good coaching conversation strikes the right balance between process facilitation and content delivery, and I focus on enhancing client performance as well as developing their strengths.
I coach using a Cognitive-Behavioural and Solution-Focused approach, and have also facilitated coaching courses for the last five years. My coaching is a bit like “therapy for people who do not need therapy”.
Reviews
Joel really helped me during a difficult transition period for me at work. His patient and warm demeanour, balanced with his dynamic and insightful questions really helped me put perspective on what I was going through. After 6 months of regular appointments, I have recently received positive 360 evaluations at work and my relationships with my family have never been better!
