About Me

My name is Nancy Basoah-Scott I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couple, & Family Counseling from St. Edwards University in May 2023. While in grad school, I was able to provide therapy to individuals and couples in addition to being a co-therapist for the PHP group at Rock Springs Hospital in Georgetown, TX. I also had the opportunity to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families at Capital Area Counseling in Austin, TX.

I am a Level 2 trained Gottman Method Couples Therapy and have received additional training in Gottman Method Affairs & Trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Intimacy, Infidelity, Anxiety, Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as Sexual issues, amongst other topics. I specialize in infidelity, couples, marital conflict, relational conflict, intimacy issues, and communication issues. I am a sex-informed and sex-positive coach. I am a coach who has had the privilege of working with individuals and couples who are a part of the kink community, LGBTQ+ community, sex work industry, nonmonogamous relationships, as well as monogamous relationships.

I believe that in order for one to get the full experience and to be able to heal, both the coach and the client need to be 100% honest and open with each other. Know that I am fully committed to helping you with your journey. I have a collectivistic approach. This means together, we will look at your different relationship dynamics to see how it plays a role in your current situation. I take a directive approach, meaning I will be frank about how you are contributing to your current struggle. We cannot change others, nor do we have control over the people around us, but we do have control over ourselves and can make changes within ourselves in order to gain a different outcome within our situation. It is important to note that resistance to change is a key obstacle to success. I can only be of assistance if you are ready and willing to put in the work
