About Me

My name is Heidi Ahrens and I am a family and birth coach. Through my Becoming a Parent series of classes, workshops, and one-on-one work I have worked with mothers, fathers, families and new couples in creating a peaceful environment in their home and hearts. I also work with children and young Adults to find their lives potential.

I have been involved in education for more than 15 years. I have taught pre-kindergarten through sixth grade in the public schools, outdoor education at the high school level, and education courses at CMC. I have a Masters of Education, an Associates in arts and communication, a B.A in outdoor and experiential education. I am currently working towards certification as a doula, in lactation consultation, and in family coaching. This last year I have also assisted new mothers during their labor and have consulted on breastfeeding issues with other new moms. I have also supported families in their quest to create a family and parenting style that best fits their goals.

Since I can work with you on a variety of family questions: sleep, discipline, health, education, pregnancy, siblings, organization,etc, I tailor my work to each parent and children needs. I like to spend at least one hour getting to know you and your thoughts around parenting and family. After a second hour of consultation on your main areas of concern, we can come up with an action plan for further work. After each hour I always make sure my clients have great tools to explore.
