About Me

After almost 37 years of employment in the Government sector, 24 of which were in management, I retired and started a life coaching service, New Horizen Coaching & Growth Advancement Service, LLC.. My clients include middle school to college students, veterans transitioning to the private sector, moms returning to the workforce, aspiring managers, working professionals making mid-life career changes and baby boomers dealing with senior care, empty nests and other issues. Although I will meet in a neutral location (think coffee shop, library, cafe) most of my coaching sessions are conducted via phone or SKYPE. And, thus far, I've had a 98% success rate focusing on career advancement and transition confidence.

My background - I grew up in a military lifestyle, traveling since I was 3 months old so I have been exposed to many cultures, languages and personalities. Juggling 3 part-time jobs, I put myself through college. I learned time management and coaching skills along the way. I started using these skills on my own children as they entered middle school. Eventually I found myself becoming an "unintentional coach" helping friends and friend's families. Over time, coaching became my passion and I knew, post retirement, coaching was what I wanted to do. But I didn't want to just help people but help people help themselves; providing the necessary tools and techniques to further their progress in achieving their goals and desires.

In my government career I helped develop a coaching culture, creating short vignettes and simulation exercises in order to train several hundred managers and aspiring managers. I continued to coach for my agency also.

I continue to challenge myself and work on my own self-development while maintaining a balanced life. Married with two grown children and one grandchild, I love to garden, travel, play sports and sew. I am also a member or past officer in several professional organizations and am active in my church and community.
