All call to arms for women
Women: stop being nice. It’s ruining you.
Be kind. Have compassion. But f*ck polite.
When you are polite,
you apologize when you haven’t done anything wrong
you ask permission when you don’t need it
you consult or research when you already know the answer
you reserve your opinion so you don’t rock the boat
You are a grown-ass woman. You deserve to take up space. And besides what you deserve, your family, your friends, your clients—they do better when you stand tall.
You are not a bitch for having a strong opinion.
You are not needy for expressing legitimate needs.
You’re not conceited for telling people what you’re good at.
What do you think?
What do you need?
What can you give?
Stand firm in who you are today. Warts and all. Our world needs leaders, and that means you.
