Escape Velocity

Posted on January 10, 2021 by james falcon, One of Thousands of Life Coaches on Noomii.

The key to the goal-setting-pursuit-attainment process is in breaking free of the forces that impede our process. This provides the "how."

According to Wikipedia “in physics (specifically, celestial mechanics), escape velocity is the minimum speed needed for a free, non-propelled object to escape from the gravitational influence of a massive body, that is, to achieve an infinite distance from it.” In plain English, a smaller object has to travel at a particular speed in order to break free of a larger object’s gravitational hold. Although I have always loved science, I am a life coach and this is a blog about life coaching Inn either case this post and others are fitting tributes to my elementary school science teachers who frequently lost patience attempting to teach a classroom filled with hormonals raging teenagers of whom I was chief. Thankfully, over the years I have come to understand those lessons and have found use for them at least as a basis from which to draw parallels about the exchanges we life coaches have with our clients. . Tributes aside, The bottom line is this. The smaller object is the coachee or may very well be any of us depending on the circumstances and scenarios. The larger object might be the “thing” from which the coachee hopes to break free from. That could be a mood, or a mindset or a condition. For many of us, it’s that reoccurring voice in our heads that often tries to convince us that we can’t or won’t accomplish a certain task and then it is generous enough to provide us with several points in support of our inability. Or it might be the fact that no one in our family has ever done the thing we are aspiring to do. Or, in my case, it might be just the opposite. the fact that everyone in my family did a particular thing-followed a pattern-a destructive one, and reoccurring voice attempts to make it’s case by sentencing me to the same fate. For example, “ya know all of your family members on your father’s side of the family, all died of health related problems. What makes you believe you will be any different. Watch! You’ll be just like them. You’ll see. At the rate you’re going you may die even sooner than they did.” A prevailing belief or a set of circumstances exists, A connect of which is mot profitable. So, we get in motion to make our move away from it-hopefully sooner than later. Through meeting techniques and skilled approaches, the expertise and the experience of the life coach emerge to save the day and aid the coachee.
