Overcoming Negative Thoughts

Overcoming negative thoughts can be a daunting challenge. Turn the negative into positive and discover freedom and peace of mind.
Overcoming negative thoughts can seem like a daunting challenge. Everywhere you glance, there are sounds and images constantly streaming at us in the negative. Therefore, because we are consistently bombarded with these, our OWN thoughts take a downward turn.
Do you find yourself saying things like, “I can’t” or “I won’t” or “I don’t think I can”… even saying, “I want to LOSE weight” is a negative.
These negative thoughts cause doubt, cause you to question the validity of your dream, cause you to question if you should even be attempting to try!
But what if you could turn those around into positives? Imagine if you could turn every instance into some sort of positive result? The only thing holding you back from your goals, your dreams is a negative thought; a negative belief. Therefore, make it positive.
How? Simple (and hard :D ) Ask yourself questions such as these:
Negative:_ “I can’t do that!” POSITIVE: “What if I could do that. What would that be like?”
Negative: “I’m don’t want…” POSITIVE: “What would I rather have instead?”
Negative: “I won’t be like that…” POSITIVE: “How would I rather be?”
Negative: “I don’t think they’ll want to talk to me” POSITIVE: “What if they DID want to talk to me, what would they say?”
Negative: “I want to lose weight” POSITIVE: “Where do I want to be with my weight?”
The list goes on and on. The theme here is:
If it’s not negative, then WHAT is it that’s positive?
This is a key component to anyone’s success: Successful people focus on what they want instead of what they don’t want.
So, here is my challenge to you: For the next 21 days, every time you catch yourself thinking or saying something that is negative (don’ts, can’ts, wont’s, etc), restate it in the positive; Not just restate it, but imagine it – see it in your mind.
And see what happens. Simply observe the results of such thinking. I imagine you will be amazed. Please be sure to let me know how this works for you.
