We all have 24 hours in a day and the big question is how do some people manage to do ALL of that and still look like a million dollars? Here's 10 tips
Here’s the top 10 tips on keeping your busy schedule and sanity in check!
1. Know your core values in life and at work
Core Values are what keeps you ALIVE and HAPPY – simply that. Your core values form the main pillars of what keeps you happy and motivated to wake up every day in the morning. Stick to 4 at most. I believe your core values in life and work should be aligned. You are 1 person even in all the 100 roles you play in your daily life.
If your core values are life is family, nature, achievement and learning – how much time are you spending on them?
2. Know your vision
What is you ultimate dream? If you leave this world tomorrow, what is it you want to be remembered by? Know your vision and align what you are doing today to what you want achieved. At the end of the day, even if you are tired, at least you know you have one thing to smile about. You are closer to your dream.
3. Clarify your Priorities – balancing what you want with what you need to do
Pay yourself first and this also includes the time (not just the money) you dedicate for yourself. If dance is a core value, how much time do you dedicate dance for yourself? Work, appointments and deadlines will always be there – make sure you dedicate time for yourself to do the things you want. Investing in a coach is one of the ways to become aware of your values, vision and priorities.
4. Investing Your time wisely: The 80/20 rule
Stop. Then ask yourself how much output can i get out of doing this one thing for this amount of time? Your aim is to get 20% of your activities to produce 80% of meaningful results in life/ office.
5. Focus on the power of 3 – Setting 3 intentions at the start of the day for conscious choices and actions
As a leadership developer, this is the key element that sets the follower apart from the leaders. Leaders (everyone is a leader and that includes you!) are intentional about what they do and how they want to impact others. Start your day with setting your intentions for conscious choices and actions.
6. Simplify – Declutter, Say no and delegate
The title speaks for itself. Just do it.
7. PLAN
Take 10 minutes to plan your day, 20 minutes to plan your week and month. Once you know what’s up on your agenda, you know which ones are associated with your core values and vision and which ones to chuck or outsource.
8. Take breaks
The more you feel you can’t afford to slow down and take a break, the more you need it. Listen to your body. There’s wisdom in that headache.
9. Have fun
Life is not life if you are going around like a dead robot. Having fun ties in with doing things daily that links up with your core values and vision.
10. BREATHE!
Yes, we are alive. So breathe. Take 10 seconds breathing breaks at hourly intervals. You’ll be amazed at how much your body needs it.
