Getting a "Slight Edge" on life's competetion

Posted on December 03, 2011 by Jason Roberson, One of Thousands of Relationship Coaches on Noomii.

Are you discouraged at your progress in life or toward a goal? Great Book suggestion, Jeff OLson the slight Edge

There are times in life where the odds are so stacked against us the situation seems hopeless. “Seems” is the key word, after reading the Slight edge you can realize no living situation can’t be overcome. The slight edge by Jeff Olson is a phenomenal book about the small steps taken daily toward a larger goal.
After reading this book a encounter with an old friend gave me perspective in my own life. I was invited to a fathers day bible study and it was my first time in the group. A close friend and successful leader in the banking industry introduced me by telling a story about us going to the recreation center after school at the age of 15. In his story he highlighted the fact most of our peers would spend time doing random activities and he would always find my in the weight room , doing what he described in the story an odd neck exercises lol. Not only did he not know why someone would work on a neck muscle at the time, he talk about my consistency of workouts week to week to the group. I realize there it was, played out in my own life!
I spent the vast majority of my after school life working out and honing my football skills in and off season. The end result of that small daily activity 4 years later was the opportunity to take a full ride scholarship to college.
Im sure some at the time said wow he is lucky or some other reason we all give to those who have any accomplishment in life. We do this because the slight edge is so hidden, so subtle its almost impossible to see in any success story. The key and main point about the slight edge is the daily things that are so easy to do are also easy not to do, yikes! Spend your time wisely
