No Reply

Dealing with people who don't reply to your text, emails or voice mails
Have you ever sent someone an email or left them a voice mail and they never reply? When this happens, there are many different ways we can interpret the “no reply”.
Here are a few of the things that could possibly go through your mind…
• I wonder if she listened to the voice mail
• I wonder if she opened my email
• Did I call at the wrong time
• Is she trying to tell me something by not replying
• How rude!
• How long does it take to respond to a simple email
• Should I call again (no, probably not, then she will think I am harassing her
• Is my email going into her spam folder
• Doesn’t she like me any more
• I thought we were friends, why doesn’t she reply
The list goes on and on in our heads, AND, that is exactly where the conversation will stay because we talk ourselves out of following up. Haven’t you ever had a day that was so busy, you barely had time to brush your teeth let alone return phone calls or emails? Why is it so difficult to believe that someone else might be having that kind of day?
OR, in my case…maybe she just got a NEW computer and now has to learn Windows 8 before responding to anything! Trust me, trying to figure out a new computer system while attempting to complete a task that took minutes on the old computer, now takes forever! Everything I was used to seeing on my old computer is now a distant memory while I try to figure out this new system. Of course, the smart thing to do would be to take time to watch all of the tutorial videos that show me HOW to work my new computer.
Ok, I will watch those videos as soon as I return all of my emails, return my phone calls and brush my teeth!
The moral of this story… it usually isn’t about you! Pick up the phone, call, follow up, and relax! Life is good!
