It is the dawn of 2016. Setting goals and rethinking priorities occupy people’s minds this time of the year. It is only natural to think about building a plan that creates a clear path to achieving things.
We tend to look at goals as a way to measure our relevancy. A justification of our ability to deliver. However, what if the goal did more than just help us to achieve a desired outcome? What if we moved beyond creating goals for the sake of goals What if goals also inspired our values into action? How can empowering our goals with our values change the outcome? If we take a look at our values in relation to a goal – what do we see? Perhaps they may start with responsibility, reliability, dedication, and continue with integrity, loyalty and accomplishment. When we connect our values to our goals we create action plans that can truly empower us.
