Accountability partners provide motivation, encouragement and reminders as you work toward accomplishing goals. They are your partner and motivator.
Who is yours? Who is the person you run your hopes, dreams, and ideas by? Do they listen and provide you sound advice and encouragement or do they just blithely answer “yes, dear, whatever you want.”? Or do you not have an accountability partner?
As a Life Coach I am surprised at the frequency that my clients tell me they have no accountability partner or they aren’t sure whom they can trust as an accountability partner. I am also surprised at how frequently a client will tell me that he/she doesn’t even have a close friend or more who is there to support her latest endeavor. Some people in today’s society place too much emphasis on work and not enough on building or nurturing relationships.
In my life am so blessed to have several accountability partners and friends to share my ups and downs with. Make sure you are balancing your work-life ratio. Nurture your friendships and consider whom you can count on to be your accountability partner. Having someone you trust to check in with on your goals is extremely effective and will help you propel yourself forward professionally. They will cheer you on, celebrate the milestones on your journey, and make sure that your goal remains a priority. Who is your accountability partner?
