How to Stop Sales Burnout & Increase Sales

Posted on August 08, 2018 by Tony Ward, One of Thousands of Entrepreneurship Coaches on Noomii.

Sales Burnout is BIGGER than you realize! I can help you increase employee retention and motivate to extraordinary performance!

Who are we kidding, if you have been selling as long as I was you too know it can get tedious.

Would you be surprised to know sales is one of the most high-stress, demanding professions.

When you feel tired, anxious or you have lost your motivation, its hard to get back on track and pick up the phone and make your calls. You’re always rethinking your pitch, “ is it to boring, is it to long, does it make since” this is a very common part of Sales Burnout.

Depending on your type of sales, you might be a telemarketer, out side sales person, always cold calling or working from a data base… nevertheless your call sheets become monotonous and you start making less and less calls, where did the passion go! You ask yourself, how do I get the edge back and how do I get re-motivated and be challenged so to create better performance.

There are many different techniques you can use for recovering, depending on the level of burnout. Hiring a coach is one of the top choices, coaches help you think outside the box, they make you think about unchartered waters, they help you dig deep and develop a unique and different approach to your sales process.

Approaches, this could be the right time to create a new approach… Instead of talking to your prospects about what you can offer them, change your questions to learn about their business and start becoming a relationship builder rather than a sales person. Learn more about your prospect before you call them, yes this may mean you need to do more work outside of the office – what’s wrong with that, if you create a few different approaches to your process and continue to tweak them you can re-develop the passion for sales, hence sell more and become a top performer.

As a business coach I have helped my clients learn more about why people purchase and the methodology behind thinking, which has helped them grow their business. Believe it or not, every call you make – the person on the other side wants to purchase, you need to understand why they make decisions and why they don’t.

Change is a good thing, you are going to want a new process for your daily activity. This is a perfect time to come up with 3 new pitches and use them all, no one ever said you had to create ONE PITCH… stretch yourself, reach beyond your comfort zone – record it! listen to yourself, are there any changes you can make? Video’s are HOT, make a video and send it in an email to a few prospects, this is the time to CREATE YOUR OWN UNIQUE SALES PROCESS.

You could also talk to other sales people you know, what do they do? Have you ever looked online and thought about new email templates, scripts etc… If you use other templates online, you can tweak them to create your own flair or style these templates can be great starting points.

Have you ever thought about trading your leads with another sales person, why not mix it up.. this has been proven to increase sales, sometimes the person/prospect on the other side likes to talk with a women or its as easy as your voice being softer or showing more excitement.. You never know what the prospect is thinking about or what makes them tick.

Record your calls and listen to them, what changes can you make, what questions did the prospect ask – can those questions help you on another call? Can you use their pains as a way in with the next prospect?

Attend a Sales Event, trade show, conference, webinar, training or coaching classes – all of these help you gain a new perspective on selling and might give you new ideas. Trade shows are great for networking and meeting prospects, or other sales people trading strategies as well as just getting you into the market place.

Start today, find the LOVE for SALES and become a top performer.
