Beating Male Depression

Yes, we’ve all heard the jokes concerning the male mid-life crisis and the questions of self-identity that go by using it.

There is however a darker side to depression that face men. Over a million people take their lives world-wide annually. American males are three or four times more prone to commit suicide than women. Actually, American men between 20 and 24 have a suicide rate seven times more than women within the same age group.

Don’t forget to take action with your loved ones! Spend time over a hobby or something that you like. Maybe it’s golfing. Maybe you are a stamp collector. Anything you enjoy, take time to take action. If it gets you outside while the sun is shining, better still.

Take a look at lifestyle. Lots of men who experience depressive symptoms will also be perfectionists. Sometimes it could be smart to reduce expectations or workload. As well as explore your options of a new job.

If little else, take a break from your regular routine. A vacation can perform wonders to your life perspective, but a couple of days, or even a few hours might help.
