A personal website, the new business card.

It used to be that only businesses needed to have a website, not individuals. Nowadays, everyone, who wishes to be “included” in this digital work era, can benefit from one.

If you wish to sell a service or a product or want to have the power to choose the job you want, you need to have a website, trust me. And if you can keep that content updated, useful to others and aligned to your purpose in life, you will not be left out of the game.

Remember those days when people who were looking for a new job or a career transition would attach their CVs to an email and send it to their network with a subject line “looking for new opportunities”? Please don’t do that anymore. That would show how not aligned with today’s work market you are. You deserve better.

Instead, step out of the crowd. Update yourself. Build a website, write articles related to your expertises or your hobbies, make videos that teach something to the world, get your clients, coworkers or teachers to write you an honest testimonial. And include all of that into your website, your new business card.

I took ten whole months to build my website! Yes, not kidding. But let me remind you I was 41 years old when I did my first one, so did not come equipped with the “millennial digital genes”. Not complaining, surely, we came with some other genes that the millennials don’t have, plus we have the life experience, so if you can add your experience, that came with your generation, to some of the new digital era skills, ohh man. You’ll be wanted by many open minded institutions who need that mix.

And, as entrepreneur blog says “I don’t care if you’re a one-man show or a 10,000-employee corporate giant; if you don’t have a website, you’re losing business to others that do.”

So instead of spending your time looking for a new job, you might just want to focus on building your first website right. I can help you.
