About Me

When my husband and I were newlyweds, we budgeted by feeling. We'd say, "I think we can afford this. Let's buy it." After a year of marriage, I convinced my husband that we needed to buy a new house and I said, "I feel like we can afford it! Let's move." So we did! After a couple years, I sat on the coach with my newborn baby and figured out that we couldn't afford the house. It was sucking our income and we were house poor. I realized that if we sold the house and moved (again), we could get out of debt and start making progress on our goals. So we downsized to a condo that we could actually afford. After this experience, I wanted to help other married couples to not make the mistakes we did. I wish we had done better with our money from the beginning of our marriage instead of learning from our mistakes.
