Are You Ready for Success?

It was a sunny day when John was walking by the sea. As he strolled along, thousands of thoughts ran through his mind. Suddenly, something unusual caught his attention.

In the distance, he saw a man fishing from the shore. At first glance, there was nothing extraordinary about it. The fisherman cast his line into the ocean, patiently waited, and reeled it back when a fish bit. So far, everything looked “normal.”

But then John noticed something strange. Each time the fisherman pulled out a fish, he carefully measured it… and then threw the big ones back into the sea while keeping only the small ones.

Confused, John couldn’t help but walk closer to ask. With curiosity written all over his face, he greeted the fisherman and asked:
“Why do you throw the big fish back and only keep the small ones? Doesn’t it make more sense to do the opposite?”

The fisherman smiled, walked to his tent, and came back holding a small frying pan. Then he explained:
“Look at the pan I have. It’s too small. I can’t cook the big fish. I only keep the small ones because those are the only ones that fit. I’m simply not prepared for the big ones.”

That moment hit John like lightning.

And now I want to ask you the same question:
- Are you prepared for the big fish?
- Are you truly prepared for the big opportunities life has in store for you?
- Have you ever wondered if you’re truly ready to recognize the big opportunities that might be right in front of you?
- In other words—are you ready for success?

The Blind Spots That Keep Us Small

Many times, opportunities are right in front of us… but we don’t see them. Why? Because deep inside we don’t believe they exist, or worse, we don’t believe we deserve them.

You’ve probably heard people say: “I never get opportunities.” That becomes their reality. Even when opportunities are standing right in front of them, they remain invisible.

And here’s another truth: our words shape our reality. If you constantly say, “there are no opportunities for me,” then that will be the experience you create—even if it’s not the actual reality.

As Zig Ziglar once said:
“Words create pictures in our minds.”

So let me ask you:
• What do you say about yourself and your potential?
• What words do you use to describe your life, your possibilities, your future?
• Are those words making your frying pan bigger… or keeping it small?

Growing Your Frying Pan

If you want to take advantage of life’s big opportunities, you need to expand yourself—personally, mentally, and professionally.

Years ago, in a training I attended, I learned a powerful principle: if you want to seize opportunities, you must step outside your comfort zone. There’s no other way. You need to put you in a place that there is no way to retrac or going back.

Here’s the simple method:
1. When an opportunity shows up, say “YES, I accept, let’s go!”
2. Tell the world—share your commitment publicly.
3. Find the way, discover the path, and make it happen.

Yes, every time you do this, it will be uncomfortable. But every step outside your comfort zone expands your capacity. And the bigger your capacity, the bigger the opportunities you’ll be able to see and embrace. This is the path to being truly ready for success.

The Real Danger of Success

Strange as it may sound, many people fear success more than failure. Why? Because success demands growth. It demands that you make your frying pan bigger, that you stretch beyond what feels safe.
But here’s the truth: staying with a “small pan” will only keep you stuck with small fish.

So, once again: Are you ready for the big fish? Are you ready for the big opportunities? More importantly, are you ready for success?
