Are You Feeding Your Failures or Fueling Your Success?

Discover how the focus you choose—on failures or on wins—shapes your reality and determines whether you shrink or grow.
Are You Feeding Your Failures or Fueling Your Success?
Albert Einstein, one of the most brilliant minds in history, once gave a powerful lesson during a seminar. He wrote on the blackboard:
9 × 1 = 09
9 × 2 = 18
9 × 3 = 27
9 × 4 = 36
9 × 5 = 45
9 × 6 = 54
9 × 7 = 63
9 × 8 = 72
9 × 9 = 81
9 × 10 = 91
Immediately, the room burst into laughter. Students mocked him, because, of course, the correct answer to 9 × 10 is 90, not 91.
Einstein remained calm, waited for silence, and then said:
“I made nine correct calculations, but no one congratulated me. The moment I made one mistake, everyone laughed. This is exactly how society works—you can succeed many times, but people will focus on your smallest error. My advice: never let criticism destroy your dreams.”
That lesson is timeless. And it leads us back to the question:
- Are you feeding your failures or fueling your success?

What You Focus On Expands
Think about this: has it ever happened to you that you bought something “unique,” only to suddenly notice everyone seems to have it too? That’s because once your mind focuses on something, you begin to notice it everywhere.
Let’s do a little experiment. Look around and find everything brown in the room. Now close your eyes. With your eyes closed, try to name all the red or green objects in the space.
Chances are, you remembered more brown objects—because that’s where your focus was. When you open your eyes again, you’ll realize there were many red and green objects too… but you didn’t notice them before.
This is how life works: what you choose to focus on, expands.

Becoming a “Police Officer” of Mistakes
From a young age, many of us are conditioned to spot mistakes rather than celebrate wins. We become “police officers” of errors—quick to criticize what’s wrong, while overlooking what’s right.
But here’s the trap: when you constantly focus on mistakes, you magnify them. You give them energy. And before you know it, negativity and hopelessness start expanding in your life.
And it doesn’t stop with others. In fact, we are often our own harshest critics. If you focus on your own failures, they will grow in your mind. The more energy you give to what’s broken, the more brokenness you’ll feel.
So let me ask you again: Are you feeding your failures or fueling your success?
- What results is your current focus creating in your life—progress or frustration?
- What are you losing, and what are you truly gaining, by giving your energy to what doesn’t work?

Shift Your Focus, Shift Your Life
Life is not just about ignoring mistakes or pretending they don’t exist. It’s about choosing what deserves your energy. If you put your focus on possibilities, on wins, on what’s working—you’ll expand hope, joy, and confidence.
Your reality is not simply what “happens.” It’s what you choose to see. And what you choose to see becomes the experience you live every day.
So stop being a police officer of errors. Instead, become a builder of possibilities. Focus on progress, on growth, on wins—no matter how small. Fuel your success, and you’ll see more of it unfold before your eyes.

Final Thoughts
The world doesn’t need another person trapped in negativity. The world needs you fully alive, focused, and expanding what’s possible.
So once more, let me leave you with this challenge:
- Are you feeding your failures or fueling your success?
The choice is yours. And your focus will determine the life you live.
