Noomii's Coaching Circle Frequently Asked Questions
These FAQs cover the Noomii Coaching Circle. For general FAQs for coaches, visit our FAQs for Coaches. If you are looking for help finding a coach, check out our FAQs for clients.
What is the Noomii Coaching Circle?
The Noomii Coaching Circle is a self-service platform where coaches connect with one another to exchange coaching. It is not about matching or transactions, it is about creating opportunities to practice, grow, and receive support from fellow professionals.
Here is what makes the Circle valuable:
- You get the experience of being coached yourself, clarity, accountability, and personal growth.
- You hone your coaching skills by practicing with real coaches in a safe, supportive environment.
- You earn ICF-eligible coaching hours that count toward credentials, while remembering these are not paying clients but professional exchanges.
It is important to understand that true coaching requires a commitment of time, energy, and compensation. The Coaching Circle gives you two of those ingredients, time and energy, but it is not a replacement for building a real practice with paying clients.
Think of it like a practice gym for coaching. You get the reps, the accountability, and the growth, so when you step into real client work, you are stronger, sharper, and more prepared.
Disclaimer: The Coaching Circle is for practice and professional development, not for income. Use it to sharpen your skills and support your growth, and keep building paying client relationships outside the Circle.
How much does it cost to join the Coaching Circle?
Nothing extra. If you are already a Pro or Elite member, the Coaching Circle is included in your membership.
To join in, you need to:
- Keep your membership active
- Stay current on payments
- Make sure any referral commissions are up to date
If you are on the free Hobbyist plan, you will need to upgrade before you can participate.
The real payoff: you get a low-stakes space to experiment, take risks, and sharpen your coaching craft with other professionals who are committed to growth. You also sit in the client chair, which gives you perspective that makes you a better coach over time.
The Circle does not replace real paying clients, it is a great place to practice, learn, and log hours toward your ICF or other credentials.
Am I required to join the Coaching Circle?
Nope. The Coaching Circle is completely optional, but skipping it means passing up a powerful, free way to grow.
Here is why many coaches jump in:
- You get to be a client, and every coach should know what it feels like on the other side of the table.
- You get real practice time without the pressure of billing or contracts.
- You join a community of professionals who are committed to improving their craft.
Think of it this way, you would not hire a personal trainer who never works out. The Coaching Circle keeps you sharp by making sure you are not only coaching, but also being coached.
How do I enroll in the Coaching Circle?
Joining the Coaching Circle is simple and self-service. Here is how to get started:
- Log in to your Noomii account.
- Go to the Coaching Circle page.
- Click “Join the Noomii Coaching Circle.”
- Accept the terms and conditions.
Once you are in, you can browse the platform, connect with other coaches, and set up your own exchanges. Noomii does not match you, you control who you work with and how you manage those relationships.
How often will I be required to coach in the Coaching Circle?
The Circle is self-service, so you set the pace. For steady growth, aim for:
- One session per week as the coach
- One session per week as the client
- At least 45 minutes per session
Remember, these are fellow coaches, not paying clients. The value comes from consistent practice and the chance to sit in both seats, coach and client.
How does Noomii match me with my coach and client?
We do not, and that is by design. The Coaching Circle is a self-service exchange platform.
Here is how it works:
- When you join, you can browse the platform and connect directly with other participating coaches.
- You decide who you would like to coach and who you would like to be coached by.
- You and your partner manage the relationship yourselves, scheduling sessions, setting expectations, and following through.
This gives you flexibility and control. Work with someone in your niche, or try a different specialty. Both are available.
These are practice exchanges, not paying clients. True coaching in business requires time, energy, and compensation. The Circle gives you time and energy so you can grow while you build your real client base.
How long does it take Noomii to find my matches?
It does not, because there is no matching. As soon as you join, you can browse and start connecting with other coaches.
How quickly you begin depends on you. Reach out and schedule, and you could start the same day. Take time to explore profiles, and it might be longer.
What if I do not like the coach or client I chose?
That is the benefit of a self-service platform, you are never locked in. If the fit is not right, end the engagement and look for someone new on the platform.
These are fellow professionals you are exchanging with, so there is no pressure to stick it out if it does not feel right. The relationship works when both people commit time and energy.
How long should each coaching engagement last?
You decide, but we strongly recommend committing to about three months with each partner.
- It gives you time to build trust and rhythm.
- You experience the natural ups and downs of a coaching relationship.
- You see results, in your own growth as a client and in your skills as a coach.
After three months, continue together or connect with a new partner. Staying builds depth, switching brings variety and fresh perspectives.
Remember, these are practice exchanges, not paying clients. The business of coaching requires time, energy, and compensation. The Circle gives you time and energy, which makes it a strong training ground.
Will coaching in the Circle count toward my ICF credential?
Yes. The International Coaching Federation allows Coaching Circle hours to count toward your credential because your exchange serves as payment.
The Circle helps you:
- Log eligible hours toward your ICF credential
- Practice and refine your skills with other professionals
- Experience being coached yourself, which makes you a stronger coach
These are exchange hours, not paying client hours. Professional coaching requires time, energy, and compensation. The Circle gives you the first two while you build your client base.
What if I need to take a break from the Coaching Circle?
Life happens, holidays, sickness, busy seasons, and that is fine. You can pause your participation at any time.
When you pause, any current exchanges end, freeing your partners to connect with other coaches. When you are ready, unpause and start reaching out again.
Consistency drives progress. The more you show up, the more you sharpen your skills, earn credential hours, and grow as both coach and client.
